Summary

This thrilling debut, reminiscent of new fan favorites like One of Us Is Lying and the beloved classics by Agatha Christie, will leave readers guessing until the explosive ending。

Welcome to dinner, and again, congratulations on being selected。 Now you must do the selecting。

What do the queen bee, star athlete, valedictorian, stoner, loner, and music geek all have in common? They were all invited to a scholarship dinner, only to discover it’s a trap。 Someone has locked them into a room with a bomb, a syringe filled with poison, and a note saying they have an hour to pick someone to kill … or else everyone dies。

Amber Prescott is determined to get her classmates and herself out of the room alive, but that might be easier said than done。 No one knows how they’re all connected or who would want them dead。 As they retrace the events over the past year that might have triggered their captor’s ultimatum, it becomes clear that everyone is hiding something。 And with the clock ticking down, confusion turns into fear, and fear morphs into panic as they race to answer the biggest question: Who will they choose to die?

All Your Twisted Secrets is a psychological mystery thriller。 The story unfolds through its narrator, Amber Prescott。 She alternates her telling of the story in real time over the course of the hour the group is trapped in the basement。 She weaves in the history of the characters and their relationships to each other with flashbacks。 Readers who enjoy mystery thrillers that involve a race against time, an escape room setting, and have an ensemble cast of characters to psychoanalyze will love thi All Your Twisted Secrets is a psychological mystery thriller。 The story unfolds through its narrator, Amber Prescott。 She alternates her telling of the story in real time over the course of the hour the group is trapped in the basement。 She weaves in the history of the characters and their relationships to each other with flashbacks。 Readers who enjoy mystery thrillers that involve a race against time, an escape room setting, and have an ensemble cast of characters to psychoanalyze will love this book。 The pressure of death brings about human characteristics and interactions that would have been hidden in the day- to- day world the teens have been living in up until this point。 Once you begin reading it is very hard to put the book down with it’s fast pace and quick twists。 With intimate details, tragedy, and deep look within Amber’s brain the reader feels like they are in the room with the characters。 Four little elements hold everyone’s life in the balance; a locked room, a bomb, a syringe and a letter。 Will the group follow Amber’s plan to get everyone out alive or will they turn on each other and kill someone? All Your Twisted Secrets contains themes of bullying, suicide, mental illness, death, violence, PTSD, and drugs。 There is a very strong anti-bullying message about not accepting bullying in any form。 At the end of the book there is a page on how to get help if you are contemplating suicide。 。。。more

Wow, that was an emotional book。😭 I am shocked, I didn't expect that kind of an ending or even the entire thing for that matter! There is a lot of language in here though for anyone looking to read it。 Just a heads-up。 Wow, that was an emotional book。😭 I am shocked, I didn't expect that kind of an ending or even the entire thing for that matter! Amber and 5 others get invited to a scholarship dinner。 All seniors are pushing through high school to reach their goals of playing baseball, going to their dream college, and proving each other that they are the best。 However, the dinner is not for a scholarship but rather a twisted prank gone wrong。The timeline flashes from the present dinner to their final year and shows how the condescending comments fromSasha effects each of them。 Overall, it was a good read, but I quickly discovered who wa Amber and 5 others get invited to a scholarship dinner。 All seniors are pushing through high school to reach their goals of playing baseball, going to their dream college, and proving each other that they are the best。 However, the dinner is not for a scholarship but rather a twisted prank gone wrong。The timeline flashes from the present dinner to their final year and shows how the condescending comments fromSasha effects each of them。 Overall, it was a good read, but I quickly discovered who was coordinating the dinner and it felt like the ending was rushed。 。。。more

3 stars This book was really great…。 until the reveal。From the beginning this book is so intriguing, six teens locked in a room together where they find a bomb and a syringe。 The message, kill one person or all six of you die。 From there we flash from the past to the present as the six try to escape without anyone getting hurt。A compelling young adult mystery that kept my interest the whole way through。 I liked the characters and really wanted to know who did it。 And then I found out who did it 3 stars This book was really great…。 until the reveal。From the beginning this book is so intriguing, six teens locked in a room together where they find a bomb and a syringe。 The message, kill one person or all six of you die。 From there we flash from the past to the present as the six try to escape without anyone getting hurt。A compelling young adult mystery that kept my interest the whole way through。 I liked the characters and really wanted to know who did it。 And then I found out who did it and I wish I hadn’t。 But, I’d be willing to read more by this author in the future。 。。。more

Priya won’t even look at her。 I love a good ex-best-friends dynamic so their relationship was particularly interesting to me!Her boyfriend Robbie, once the popular baseball star of her dreams, becomes a point of tension when he pressures Amber to prioritize their relationship over her career。 Also locked in the room is her estranged friend Diego, who she could have loved if not for the family drama that tore them apart。 Needless to say, the dynamic between Robbie, Amber, and Diego was intense。Then there’s Scott, the local stoner who says everything on his mind, even if it will get him in trouble。 Between the flashbacks and the present-time chapters, readers learn there’s more to him than meets the eye。 I really enjoyed his character!Last but not least is queen bee Sasha, the headstrong overachiever who will do anything to end up on top。 She was a saint to let Amber into her close circle of friends and offer her new opportunities… or has she been using her the entire time?Amber has one hour to figure out the truth, keep her secrets close, and most importantly, stay alive。 Diana Urban spun this intricate web of relationships in order to explore the different pressures high school students endure, from peer pressure to bullying to drug use。 The way she folded these characters and their interactions into the novel was extremely skillful。 Everything was revealed at the proper pace and every secret got more complicated as time went on。 I was deeply invested in the characters and their relationships with each other, and it was so eerie - BUT EXCITING - to see how they each reacted to their dire situation。*** I won't spoil it here, but look away if you don't want to know any vague thing about the big twist!! *** The twist at the end definitely threw me, not because I didn't see it coming, but because I don't know if it was convincing enough。 I almost wanted it to be something different。 However, the story was well written enough for me to enjoy the story even if the twist was underwhelming。Overall, I would definitely recommend this book! It’s a thought-provoking thriller with engaging characters and intense twists。 It's bound to have readers turning page after page until the clock runs out。 。。。more

1。5I wouldn’t recommend this unless you’re a fan of the nonsense line of storytelling in pretty little liars。 Works as a tv show but as a book… yikes。 I rolled my eyes so hard at the big reveal。

This is the worst book I have EVER read。 Mentions being sweaty almost every sentence, has zero plot twists and is extremely predictable。 If you fell in love with the idea of this book, and not the writing, I recommend One Of Us Is Lying。 Similar characters, (except actually makes them likable) with a plot that is actually interesting and engaging。

I really liked the huge plot twist at the end, but I don’t like how she told everyone and that she planned to tell the police。 It would’ve been better if she was secretly the bad guy the entire time and did it to mess with peoples head。

I enjoyed reading this book。 I loved how every other chapter (when they were in the room) left off on a cliffhanger so you would have to read the past chapters to find the answers to the cliffhanger。 Not my favorite book because i feel like the "plot twist" didnt really make sense。 Like how she got the idea to set it all up。 but still very good。 I enjoyed reading this book。 I loved how every other chapter (when they were in the room) left off on a cliffhanger so you would have to read the past chapters to find the answers to the cliffhanger。 Not my favorite book because i feel like the "plot twist" didnt really make sense。 Like how she got the idea to set it all up。 but still very good。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I loved this book so much。 The plot twists were amazingly executed and I was so shocked at the ending。 The only thing that I did not like was how naive the main character, Amber Prescott was so naive at the end of the book when going to tell the police that she set everything up。 Someone died and Amber did not seem to even consider what could happen to her future after she confesses。 While I believe that she did the right thing, it shows how privileged she truly was。 It almost seemed like a last I loved this book so much。 The plot twists were amazingly executed and I was so shocked at the ending。 The only thing that I did not like was how naive the main character, Amber Prescott was so naive at the end of the book when going to tell the police that she set everything up。 Someone died and Amber did not seem to even consider what could happen to her future after she confesses。 While I believe that she did the right thing, it shows how privileged she truly was。 It almost seemed like a last ditch effort by the author to make the reader sympathetic towards Amber, when what she has done will have long term effects on the other characters and people barley mentioned for the rest of their lives。 She seems careless about the wrong things and to cared too much about revenge, so much so that it blinded her and ruined her future。 。。。more

This book gives me Mean Girls mixed with One of us is lying vibes。 There is a bit of a plot twist but instead of leaving me shook, I was more like 。。 why。。 but I did really like the message behind it and I understand the reasoning behind the decisions made in this book。
